Sama Karim Design Studios is an international architectural and spatial design practice working across city-making, architecture, interiors, and collectible design.

Our work spans urban masterplans, waterfront developments, cultural venues, high-rise towers, bespoke residences, and sculptural furniture, forming a continuous design language across scales. We collaborate with developers, private clients, cultural institutions, luxury brands, and governmental organizations, shaping spaces that are refined, experiential, and enduring. What defines our practice is not a singular style — but clarity of intention, precision of form, and a commitment to spatial identity that is both timeless and context-aware.

About Sama Karim

Sama Karim is an architect and designer whose trajectory crosses cultures, disciplines, and global design capitals.
Born in Iran, she established her architectural foundation early, earning recognition through competitions, academic achievements, and contributions that reflected a sharp conceptual mindset and a deep sensitivity to cultural context.

Driven by an ambition to expand her architectural vocabulary, she continued her studies in Canada at Ryerson University, where she balanced academic work with professional practice. This dual engagement strengthened her ability to think critically while designing with precision and purpose.

Her pursuit of advanced design research led her to London, where she joined the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA) and its renowned Design Research Laboratory (DRL), studying under Patrik Schumacher. The DRL became a pivotal chapter in her development — exposing her to computational design, emerging technologies, and global architectural discourse at the highest level.

Following her work at the AA, she joined Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), contributing to internationally recognized projects and working within one of the world’s most influential design cultures. This experience refined her approach to form, spatial innovation, and the fusion of art, architecture, and urbanism.

Today, Sama Karim leads a multidisciplinary studio operating across architecture, interior design, urban strategy, furniture design, and emerging digital environments.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create enduring spatial identities, architectures and environments that are thoughtful in concept, precise in form, and meaningful in experience. We work across scales to ensure continuity between urban framework, building character, interior atmosphere, and crafted detail. Each project is shaped to express its own cultural and contextual intelligence, resulting in spaces that are refined, timeless, and distinct.

Our Vision

We envision a practice where design thinking, cultural insight, and material craft come together to shape how people live, gather, and experience place.
Our work aspires to clarity, beauty, and permanence, setting forth an architectural language that is elegant, human-centered, and relevant across time.
We aim to collaborate at the scale of cities, institutions, and individuals, advancing architecture as both a discipline and a cultural contribution.
